Private Prescriptions:
As a registered pharmacy, The Organic Pharmacy are able to dispense your private prescriptions.
Private prescriptions are prescriptions which are not issued by the NHS. They can be prescribed by a range of private clinicians and healthcare providers. Patients have to pay for the cost of the prescription from their prescribing clinician, and the cost of the medication and a dispensing fee to the dispensing pharmacy.
If you don’t have a private prescription, you can visit a private GP, or other private clinician or healthcare provider; alternatively online consultations with private doctors are also available. Following a private consultation you will be issued with a private prescription, or it will be sent in the post. Prescriptions can be for one-off treatments or regular on-going medication. Please ask your clinician for an original paper prescription as at present The Organic Pharmacy only accept original paper private prescriptions. Please note that a print-out of an emailed prescription is not a legally valid original prescription.'
Current Dispensing Service
At present we are able to dispense private prescriptions for a limited range of Prescription Only Medicines which are of natural origin, in line with the ethos of The Organic Pharmacy. Please contact us giving details of the medication you have been prescribed to see if we are able to dispense your prescription.
The current clinical conditions for which our range of medicines can be prescribed include: Cardiovascular Disease (secondary prevention), Heart Failure, and Night Cramps.
Once, and only if we have confirmed that we can dispense the prescription for you or a member of your family and you would like The Organic Pharmacy to dispense it, please complete the following form (click here) which includes a requirement to upload a copy or picture of your prescription. The price of medication on a private prescription depends on the actual medication prescribed; we will confirm if we are able to dispense your prescription, provide you with a quote for the cost of your medication, our dispensing charge and an expected delivery date, and details of where to send your original prescription. We must receive the original hard copy prescription from you before we can dispatch any medicines dispensed from private prescriptions. All medication deliveries are free – we use UPS to deliver your medicines and once dispatched you will be contacted and be able to track the progress of your delivery.
