Since our inception in 2002 we have always pledged our commitment to safe clean beauty not just for us as people but also for the planet. Sunscreens contain chemicals that not only are harmful to us as humans but also harmful to coral and animal life, this is why we don’t and have never used chemical sunscreens.
As well as having a fully biodegradable and safe formula we are also commited to cleaning the ocean and to show our support we have partnered up with 40cean. 4ocean was founded on the belief that business can be a force for good and that the single actions of individual people, collectively, have the power to change the world. As both a public benefit corporation and Certified B Corp, they are committed to ending the ocean plastic crisis.
The Partnership
We’ve teamed with 4Ocean, a charity committed to ending another problem of the 21st Century, single use plastics floating in the worlds oceans. To date they have removed9,000 tonnes of it from the world’s seas. Like us, they are driving change not just with action, but education. CARCINOGENS IN SPF
“A recent test found various brands and batches of sunscreen and after-sun care products contained benzene, a potential carcinogen… According to the U. S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and various other regulatory agencies, benzene is known to cause cancer in humans. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) also defines benzene as a carcinogen and exposure can include “inhalation, skin absorption, ingestion, and skin and/or eye contact.”
