There are many myths and facts in the beauty and cosmetic industry. When I first started looking at preserving our creams without artificial preservatives, a universal ‘no’ was muttered by the industry and the response was 'parabens are very safe, there is no danger in using them and besides they are food grade'. My response was 'I would not eat a paraben, let alone put it on my skin’. There is scientific evidence to question the safety of parabens (even food grade types) and consumers should avoid all products with parabens and indeed all the toxins listed. We achieve a two year shelf life with our natural preservative system, avoiding the use of parabens.
